Whether you are a mom by birth, surrogacy, adoption, or circumstance you are playing an incredible role in your children’s lives. Every day you show them love, when it’s easy and when its… not. Some seasons, days, some moments, are magical. Some wonderfully mundane. Others, we’ll call them challenging. Some are downright hard.
For the moms, the grandmothers, the aunts, and the caregivers that are there no matter what, that show up even when it’s hard, you are making an impression that will last a lifetime.
“There is no way to be a perfect mother. But a million ways to be a good one.” – Jill Churchill
Let’s hold each other up. Let’s support each other through this mothering journey. Share wisdom when asked, hold space when needed, and take care of each other.
And for the little ones: read them fairy tales, teach them about superheroes, play pretend, make messes, dance like a crazy person, and explore something new every chance you get. Those are the things they will remember the most. Admit when you mess up, teach them the value of a genuine apology. Treat friends and strangers with kindness, teach them how to take care of our Earth, and show them that being unique is an incredible gift. Be the example.
And give yourself grace. You are doing a wonderful job. Happy Mother’s Day!
